![]() Most will run into one within their very first match and likely every 2nd game thereafter unless, as with an earlier point, only playing with friends - which severely limits a multiplayer designed game's potential. Hundreds of reviews and comments in regards to "I've never met a griefer" disagree with you. But when nothing is done, the issue is apparent. But it all results in lost time, a negative experience for all involved (except the troll) and an easily avoidable confrontation that should have some safeguards built into the game to resist such a fact, whether that be a limiter on friendly fire, user interactions, assigned roles and what they interact with - anything - it varies game to game. However, you cannot address all issues, particularly when the game fights you on active griefing methods of which no action is taken against, such as the aforementioned examples - somebody opening all airlocks, blowing up the reactor or running around with a beatstick 30 seconds into a match. But its a multiplayer game! Should've played ONLY with friends.īeing a host is a viable solution, to some extent, as with extensive experience of Dead by Daylight proves this. Someone is griefing in L4D? Should've played with friends. Someone is hacking in CS:GO? Should've played with friends. ![]() You can use this blanket hand-waving excuse to ignore all responsibility for game design and relevant decisions to any multiplayer based game. The easiest solution is to play with friends, but that is not a viable solution to a game inherently built with multiplayer in mind. ![]() Your insulted opinion is duly noted and immediately disregarded. P.S: Your review of the game insults me, because you ignore the easiest solution to the problem and keep playing with those people. It is not that hard to find a game in campaign mode, if not, host yourself and make the experience of others in the game better. You can save in campaign mode if you want. In this mode there are actually rewards for scavenging, completing missions, saving equipment, because you buy stuff and the ship transitions to the next mission in condition it was left in. ![]() Never in my experience I met a griefer in campaign mode. I do admit that mission/sandbox playerbase is cancer, but still, that doesn’t make the entire game garbage. Was it the drivers fault that the landmine was there, their route happened to be strictly planned over it (due to roads) or that their car was not built to withstand landmines when designed as a simple consumer conveyance device without the implication of landmines devised in its initial design?ĭid you consider playing campaign? Do you know that this is a feature? Because I do, and I enjoy the game. I dont think a game deserves being described as "fun" when someone opens all airlocks, overloads the nuclear fission reactor and blows up the ship, or runs around with a beatstick during the first 30 seconds of a match and ends the mission for everyone involved.Įxperienced players in any game, of any format, may glean "fun" from fighting the unintentional disaster-flood that Griefers and Trolls provide, but for the average layman, it is by no means any way to judge a game on its merits or its raw functionality.Ī car may function after running over a landmine, but is that its intended function? Originally posted by Evan_:I barely dare to mention as this mentality is anathema to many, but if you forget about completing the mission (that has no rewards), and focus on social interaction, observing other players, helping them, trying to spot the traitor or a sneakier troll so you can subdue or kill them, you can even have fun even if the round fails.
